Auction Site Established To Benefit New Orleans Recovery

August 29, 2006 marks the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and ThePokerAttic.com is making an effort to help recover the culture, tourism and the soul of New Orleans that was damaged with the onslaught of the natural calamity.

ThePokerAttic is managed by Paradign Poker Consultants' founder and president, Steve Morrow, former tournament director of the World Series of Poker and former Poker Room Manager for PokerStars.com. Morrow is likewise a Katrina survivor.

The site will be putting on auction Morrow's personal memorabilia from his collection, including a mint condition PokerStars' Poker Room Manager's leather-sleeved Letterman's Jacket with a $1 starting bid, no-reserve. Proceeds will be donated to the New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund. No fee is required to register or bid on the items that will be featured in ThePokerAttic.com.

Sellers could attain "Preferred Seller" status at ThePokerAttic.com site and pay no auction fees through the end of 2007 by the simple activation of a single account before Sept. 1 2006, and then making a donation of $45 or more to the New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund. The seller will then receive from NOMHRF a "ReNew Orleans" T-shirt for the donation.

Sellers will also have access to a free e-book that will explain how to grow their very own auction businesses as opposed to being de facto employees of the bigger auction sites.
